21/01/2020 - Film release: communities in Kenya adapt to climate change

Partners for Resilience (PfR) Kenya’s activities around policy dialogue and capacity strengthening of civil society organisations have been captured in this recently published film.

The film captures how the PfR partners in Kenya have supported local organisations working in disaster management. These organisations have for instance been supported in developing joint proposals, attracting funds and in bringing  their ideas to the policy level.

The film shows ways in which the PfR partners in Kenya have successfully participated in policy dialogues for better disaster management. For instance by participating in the process of coming up with disaster management policies and bills at the national level and in PfR targeted Counties (Isiolo, Samburu and Laikipia). These legislations and policies are currently at an advanced stage. An achievement to be proud of, since these institutional frameworks proposed  in these government documents could help the country in becoming more resilient in the face of climate change and disasters.

To watch and learn from their story and work, you can find the full version of the film here (short version can be found here).
